DESCRIPTION: Switzerland, for Pedro Blanco, Salamanca, Spain, man's quarter repeating pocket watch, 29 jewels, stem wind and pin set gilt bar movement with counterpoised lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, gold timing screws and wolf's tooth winding in a sterling silver (900), engine turned hunting case, later converted to open face, with maker's details and decorative engraving on silver cuvette, and Roman numeral, single sunk, white enamel dial, blued steel spade and poker hands, serial #22577, 53mm, c1890.
CONDITION: CASE: Dings and pin pricks; Minor scratches on outer surface of case; Fine scratches on cuvette; Engine turning with minor wear; Crown replaced; Dirty; Precious metal content tested. DIAL: Hairlines in enamel, very light, 6:00 and seconds bit; Scratches minor to dial and one heavier near 8 - 9:00; Seconds bit re-glued; Specks of dirt / dust. HANDS: Minor losses to blue. MOVEMENT PLATES: Minor scratches on plate, heavier scratch on center bridge; Winding wheels with minor discoloration and oxide; Bright work has minor oxidation; Some screws with minor oxidation, marred heads; Specks of dirt / dust. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks). COMPLICATION FUNCTION: Repeater counts hours, quarter rack not falling completely or at all, needs service.
